Alex Odom, CFA
Chief Investment Officer
Alex is the Chief Investment Officer of Belt Road Capital Management (BRCM), bringing to BRCM eight years of experience in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region. Alex has extensive corporate advisory, financial structuring and transactional experience in Cambodia, Myanmar and the Lao PDR. In addition to his financial expertise, he has also served in senior executive and leadership roles for regional SME’s.
Prior to the formation of BRCM, Alex served as the CEO of Post Media, where he oversaw the largest print media and publishing group in Cambodia. Post Media’s assets include the Phnom Penh Post the country’s oldest and most read English daily newspaper, Post Khmer the fastest growing Khmer language daily newspaper, as well as two of the most visited websites in the country.
Previously, Alex was an associate for Andaman Capital Partners, a private investment and advisory group based in Myanmar. Earlier in his career, Alex was an advisor in the Lao PDR for a legal and transactional consulting firm.
Alex holds a M.Sc. in Financial Analysis from the University of San Francisco and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation holder.
Senior Investment Manager
Witt brings seven years of experience working in Southeast Asia on investment advisory, SME management and transaction support. Most recently Witt served as the CFO of SEANET Myanmar, an SME providing satellite internet services in Myanmar. As CFO, Witt led fundraising efforts and successfully launched services. Prior to his work at SEANET, Witt was a Project Manager at Andaman Capital Partners where he led teams performing due diligence, transaction support and financial analysis. Witt started his career in the microfinance sector, working with financial institutions in East Africa and South Asia and has significant experience working with analysing financial institutions in emerging economies.
Witt holds an M.A. in Finance, Trade and Economics from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies (2011) and B.A. in Finance from Colorado State University (2007).
Lim Chhoung Tang
Prior to joining BRCM, Chhoung was a manager at the Listing and Disclosure Department of the Cambodia Securities Exchange with a strong focus on reviewing and overseeing the due diligence process of potential listed companies. An auditor by training, he has more than five years of experience in advising Cambodia SMEs in areas of finance, tax, operation and corporate governance. Simultaneously, he has helped Cambodian companies with fundraising activities for their business expansion with around a million dollar raised to date. Chhoung is also a part-time lecturer in Finance and Accounting at Pannasastra University Cambodia.
Chhoung holds a Bachelor degree in English for Professional Communication from the Institute of Foreign Languages and Accounting (Hons) from Pannasastra University of Cambodia. He received the Chinese Government Scholarship to undertake a Master degree in Economics, majoring in Finance at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
Previously a reporter and journalist, Sokunthea has spent the majority of her career in the media industry, most recently serving as a business reporter at the Cambodia Daily. In her time as business journalist, she has developed strong research skills and networks across a variety of industries. Leveraging her unique knowledge of the regional business climate, she has also acted as a independent consultant providing SME and market access research for large institutions, including the Asian Development Bank. Sokunthea is currently a Media professor at Pannasastra University Cambodia (PUC).
Sokunthea holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media from PUC and later completed a joint Masters degree in Business Journalism, Media & Globalization at Aarhus University, Denmark and the City University London in the United Kingdom. Sokunthea is among the few Cambodians to be selected for the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Master’s Journalism program.
Prior to joining BRCM, Boramy worked as an auditor at Deloitte Cambodia. At Deloitte Cambodia, Boramy was exposed to a wide range of audit projects with clients in various local and international business sectors. Her main roles were to perform audit risk assessments and compliance checks, plan the overall auditing process, allocate responsibilities to team members and to present the audit findings.
Boramy graduated with a Bachelor in Accounting and Finance from CamEd Business School and a Bachelor in International Studies from the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL’s). She is currently pursuing her ACCA qualification.
