Cliff Koh, CFA CAIA
Chief Executive Officer
Cliff strongly believes in the untapped potential of the Greater Mekong Sub-Region. Seeking to actualize his convictions, he co-founded Delta Capital Partners in Cambodia, and had subsequently guided it into becoming the leading boutique investment bank in Cambodia, spearheading M&A, capital raising and other corporate advisory transactions.
Cliff has been on both buy-side and sell-side throughout various points of his career, specializing in investment of listed securities in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and China. Having worked for several hedge funds, he has significant experience with leads sourcing, deal structuring, and both primary and secondary investments in distressed companies, real estate investment trusts, and other special situations. Cliff started his career in Singapore managing books on the US, Japan and Australia desks.
Cliff graduated in accountancy from Singapore, is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
Alex Odom, CFA
Chief Investment Officer
Alex is the Chief Investment Officer of Belt Road Capital Management (BRCM), bringing to BRCM eight years of experience in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region. Alex has extensive corporate advisory, financial structuring and transactional experience in Cambodia, Myanmar and the Lao PDR. In addition to his financial expertise, he has also served in senior executive and leadership roles for regional SME’s.
Prior to the formation of BRCM, Alex served as the CEO of Post Media, where he oversaw the largest print media and publishing group in Cambodia. Post Media’s assets include the Phnom Penh Post the country’s oldest and most read English daily newspaper, Post Khmer the fastest growing Khmer language daily newspaper, as well as two of the most visited websites in the country.
Previously, Alex was an associate for Andaman Capital Partners, a private investment and advisory group based in Myanmar. Earlier in his career, Alex was an advisor in the Lao PDR for a legal and transactional consulting firm.
Alex holds a M.Sc. in Financial Analysis from the University of San Francisco and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation holder.
Senior Investment Manager
Witt brings seven years of experience working in Southeast Asia on investment advisory, SME management and transaction support. Most recently Witt served as the CFO of SEANET Myanmar, an SME providing satellite internet services in Myanmar. As CFO, Witt led fundraising efforts and successfully launched services. Prior to his work at SEANET, Witt was a Project Manager at Andaman Capital Partners where he led teams performing due diligence, transaction support and financial analysis. Witt started his career in the microfinance sector, working with financial institutions in East Africa and South Asia and has significant experience working with analysing financial institutions in emerging economies.
Witt holds an M.A. in Finance, Trade and Economics from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies (2011) and B.A. in Finance from Colorado State University (2007).
Previously a reporter and journalist, Sokunthea has spent the majority of her career in the media industry, most recently serving as a business reporter at the Cambodia Daily. In her time as business journalist, she has developed strong research skills and networks across a variety of industries. Leveraging her unique knowledge of the regional business climate, she has also acted as a independent consultant providing SME and market access research for large institutions, including the Asian Development Bank. Sokunthea is currently a Media professor at Pannasastra University Cambodia (PUC).
Sokunthea holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media from PUC and later completed a joint Masters degree in Business Journalism, Media & Globalization at Aarhus University, Denmark and the City University London in the United Kingdom. Sokunthea is among the few Cambodians to be selected for the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Master’s Journalism program.
Finance & Administration Manager
Samboth brings nearly three years of experience related to finance and administration to BRCM. Most recently, Samboth served as the Finance and Administration Manager of Entrepreneurs du Monde Co., Ltd., a social enterprise providing solar-equipped products in Cambodia. Her main role was to control the accounting procedure, establish company budgets as well as treasury forecasts and administrative support services.
Samboth attended Battambang University of Cambodia, and later received a scholarship to complete her Bachelor degree in Banking and Finance at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, a leading Malaysia private university.
Lester brings with him a diverse experience in Institutional Sales and Corporate Development across multiple Financial Institutions including Invesco Asset Management, Aberdeen Asset Management, Standard Chartered Bank and most recently at Validus Capital, where he helped to develop strategic partnerships and market entry strategies for regional expansion.
During more than six years on the sell side, he has covered major buy-side firms as well as sovereign wealth funds in Singapore, Malaysia and Korea where he had extensive experience in mutual funds, structured products and fixed income derivatives.
Lester holds an M.Sc in Management (Finance) from Durham University in the United Kingdom and was selected for the Erasmus Programme Scholarship with Mannheim Business School in Germany.
Selina is a Finance Professional with experience across both the public and the private sector. Since her arrival in Cambodia, Selina has been specialising in real estate project investment in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region with a particular focus on debt and equity financing, technical analysis and deal execution. Previously she worked for a real estate investment fund as a project finance consultant advising investment strategies and structuring on a range of real estate transactions across Southeast Asia.
Selina began her career as a public finance accountant with the UK government working on capital business planning, treasury and audit. She subsequently worked at an international development consultancy overseeing commercial management and project finance on programs that have a lasting social and financial impact in Africa and Asia.
Selina holds a BSc. in Statistics, Economics and Finance from University College London and is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
Ting Yue Liow
Prior to joining BRCM, Ting Yue previously worked as a Credit Risk Analyst with OCBC Bank in Singapore. His main responsibilities were in developing financial models, data analysis and credit risk compliance. Ting Yue also brought with him four years of experience working at Micron in Singapore and the United States. At Micron, he oversaw product testing in his previous career as an Electronic Engineer.
Ting Yue completed his joint-master degree in 2016 in Financial Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Carnegie Mellon University in the United States. He also holds a First Class Honors Bachelor degree in 2011 at Nanyang Technological University in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Jonathan is an Investment Analyst at BRCM conducting a variety of industry and consultancy research projects and supporting deal execution activities. Prior to joining BRCM, Jonathan built up strategic advisory and financial consultancy experiences in various companies in Singapore, including AIA Singapore and the M-Brain Group. Jonathan also spent time with UBS Investment Bank, where he assisted in business management.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the National University of Singapore, and a diploma in Banking and Finance specializing in Fund Management from Nanyang Polytechnic.
Lim Chhoung Tang
Prior to joining BRCM, Chhoung was a manager at the Listing and Disclosure Department of the Cambodia Securities Exchange with a strong focus on reviewing and overseeing the due diligence process of potential listed companies. An auditor by training, he has more than five years of experience in advising Cambodia SMEs in areas of finance, tax, operation and corporate governance. Simultaneously, he has helped Cambodian companies with fundraising activities for their business
expansion with around a million dollar raised to date. Chhoung is also a part-time lecturer in Finance and Accounting at Pannasastra University Cambodia.
Chhoung holds a Bachelor degree in English for Professional Communication from the Institute of Foreign Languages and Accounting (Hons) from Pannasastra University of Cambodia. He received the Chinese Government Scholarship to undertake a Master degree in Economics, majoring in Finance at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
Yuan Song Tan
Yuan Song (Sean) relishes the opportunity in unearthing and analyzing investment deals in a new environment like the Greater Mekong Sub-Region. His prior role as a Management Associate in one of Singapore’s Sovereign Wealth Funds has broadened his understanding of the various functions in the finance sector. Previously, he worked in New York City at a real estate asset management firm, furthering his interest and appreciation of the real estate industry.
Sean holds a First Class Honours degree in Business from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and was a recipient of the Nanyang Scholarship awarded to outstanding undergraduates
